SOCCSKSARGEN--- National Nutrition Council XII has partnered with two radio stations for this year’s Nutrition school-on-the-air (NSOA) implementation. The two stations selected as partners are Radyo Kadulangan, a Nutriskwela Community Radio Station in Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat and Spring Radio, an LGU-owned station in Tampakan, South Cotabato.
Radyo Kadulangan and Spring Radio underwent online orientations on June 20 and July 14, respectively, facilitated by NNC XII staff. The formal orientation began with the introduction of the 10 Kumainments messages, a popular version of the revised Nutritional Guidelines for Filipinos (NGF). The ten Kumainments are made up of shorter and simpler messages to improve recall and understanding.
NSOA, like a school, is guided by a module and has components such as the teacher—the program's anchors; students—the listeners with a daily quiz. Following the completion of the 12 sessions, a graduation ceremony will be held. Exemplary students will be recognized as "Kumainment Honor" Students. The NSOA provides accurate nutrition information as one of its benefits, and it will also explain the importance of good nutrition and a healthy lifestyle. (DMO II Aurel/NO III Flores/RNPCRML)
