The Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) Federation of Region XII conducts its 1st meeting on February 16, 2012 at the NNC XII Regional office in Koronadal City. The meeting was called to discuss important matters and in preparation for the attendance of the BNS president to the national BNS Federation meeting on Febuary 19-22, 2012 in Manila. The meeting was assisted by their advisers (South Cotabato PNAO Maria Ana D. Uy, Gen Santos City CNAO Lalaine M. Calonzo and NNC RNPC Arceli M. Latonio). The said party reviewed the National BNS Federation Constitution and By Laws which will serve as their basis in the formulation of their Regional BNS CBL but to consider/adopt and add some terms and conditions which is applicable for the regional organization.

The Regional Federation as well as those Provincial, City and Municipal Federation (not yet registered) were encouraged to register their organization at the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC).Likewise, The 2012 Annual Plan of Activities of the organization was deliberated and drafted for finalization in the next meeting to include the review of the draft Constitution and By Laws. Moreover, the committee structure was finalized as well as the logo design of the BNS Federation. Finally, the federation is looking forward in strengthening the advocacies of the National Nutrition Council. As the Region XII BNS Federation motto goes “ Hand- in-hand towards better nutrition of the nation”.
