The National Nutrition Council XII held an Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) cum Regional Nutrition Shepherding Team (RNST) meeting on August 8 at Greenstate Suites, Koronadal City. The attendees include representatives from the Department of Health (DOH), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and Save the Children.
The meeting's discussion focused on the following agenda, 2022 Nutrition Month Celebration, Breastfeeding Awareness Month Campaign, “Tutok Kainan” Dietary Supplementation Program Implementation, first 1000 Days Monitoring Dashboard, and Regional Nutrition Committee (RNC) Resolution on First 1000 Days which aims to address the issues and concerns pertaining to its implementation.
Ms. Timogtimog of DILG gives a summary and update on the Gender and Development (GAD) Seal Award, wherein one of its criteria is the establishment of breastfeeding stations and child-minding facilities in order to qualify for the award. She further said that the guidelines, tools, and checklist of GAD Seal Award shall be sent to all Regional Nutrition Committee (RNC) members for their information and reference.
NOIII Annalita Flores provides updates on the series of activities done along Regional Nutrition Shepherding Project to urge the members to actively support and participate in all the RNST’s upcoming endeavors.
In order to ensure the success of the implementation of the "Tutok Kainan" Dietary Supplementation Program as well as the Regional Nutrition Shepherding Project, RNPC Retsebeth Laquihon encourages everyone to support and actively participate in every nutrition endeavor.
