The Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team (RNET) members composed of National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and National Nutrition Council (NNC) conducts monitoring and evaluation in South Cotabato Province held on September 21 at the Provincial Social Welfare and Development (PSWD) conference room. The Provincial Nutrition Action Officer (PNAO) Rudy Jimenea together with the Provincial Nutrition Committee (PNC) members from the various sectors convened to express their support to the said activity.
The team evaluates the progress of the implementation of the Provincial Nutrition Action Plan anchored in the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) in South Cotabato province based on Local Government Units’ performance in the management and implementation of the sectoral nutrition programs and service delivery system through the Updated Nutrition Monitoring and Evaluation Protocol or MELLPI Pro tool.
The team did a desk review of the 2021 nutrition action plan vis a vis provincial nutrition accomplishment report and nutrition related documents. A Feed backing of the results was also done with the PNAO and PNC members. Further, the team highlighted the good practices initiated as well as the issues and challenges and the recommendations to further enhance the delivery of quality nutrition services in the province.
The result of the evaluation (MELLPI Pro for LGUs) will further identify the recipient of Green Banner Seal of Quality Compliance for 2021. (DMOII Utlang/NOIII Flores/RNPC Laquihon)
