The Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team (RNET) convened its 1st meeting for the year 2023 on February 27 via zoom teleconference. The meeting had a total of seven (7) attendees, which includes representatives from the Department of Health (DOH), Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), Department of Social Welfare Development (DSWD), and Save the Children.
The discussion of the meeting focuses on the following agenda, presentation of the 2022 Awardees - LGU and LNFP categories, the orientation of the MELLPI Pro Tools for LGU and LNFP, presentation of the proposed 2023 MELLPI Pro schedule, and expansion of the RNET membership.
During the meeting, the following agreements were reached, retain the chairpersonship to NEDA XII; secretariat to capacitate new focal person of NEDA as well as the additional RNET members, to send out letters to the other members of RNC regarding RNET membership expansion with RNC resolution. Further, RNPC Laquihon urged everyone to join and actively participate in the MELLPI Pro visits as it will be a mandatory activity for all provinces and cities scheduled in May and June.
MELLPI Pro will not just recognize LGUs on their performance in the management of nutrition programs but will serve as a venue for the RNET to advocate for improved and sustained support of local nutrition programs of the Local Government Units. (DMOII Utlang/ NOIII Flores/ RNPC Laquihon)
