ILOILO CITY - Seven selected cities and municipalities participated in the Local Nutrition Planning Workshop held at Punta Villa Resort, Iloilo City last January 10-13, 2017.

Two (2) cities and five (5) municipalities, which include the cities of Talisay and Silay and the municipalities of Isabela, Cauayan and Candoni from Negros Occidental, Libertad from Antique and San Enrique from Iloilo, brainstormed for their plans during the 4-day workshop. Representatives from the different departments, such as Health, Agriculture, Social Welfare, Budget Office, Local Government Operations and Planning, of each LGU joined in the workshop.

Nutrition Program Coordinator Nona B. Tad-y, Nutrition Officer IV Reginaldo Guillen and Development Management Officer IV from Department of Health Region VI Dr. Anthony Redaniel were the facilitators of the training.

The workshop aims to help the participating LGUs come up with their own effective and comprehensive Local Nutrition Action Plan based on the nutrition situation and assessment in their localities.

The output of this workshop is a draft plan for approval that will be included in their respective LGU’s Local Development Plans for budget inclusion.
