Six (6) Local Government Units (LGUs) within Region 6 were capacitated during the 5-day Nutrition Program Management (NPM) Training held last September 11-15, 2017 at Iloilo City.

The key people of the Province/City/Municipal Nutrition Committees of the LGUs of Antique, Tobias Fornier, Bacolod City, Kabankalan City, Ilog and Silay were invited to the said training where Dr. Anthony Redaniel of DOH Region VI, Dr. Edmundo Janeo of EB Magalona RHU, Ms. Jocelyn Morano of PNC Antique, Ms. Josephine Firmase of UP BIDANI and Ms. Nona B. Tad-y of NNC Region 6 served as the trainers.

            The final output of the NPM Training is a draft 3-year Local Nutrition Action Plan which will be presented to the local chief executives and the local nutrition committees of the respective LGUs for refinements and approval.

            The said training is being conducted annually with different LGU participants every year to saturate the whole region.  The participants were refreshed on the basics of nutrition, program planning, implementation and monitoring and evaluation.
