Iloilo City – A 24-year-old Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS) from Sipalay City, Negros Occidental was hailed as the Regional Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholar (ROBNS) for Region VI during the 2017 Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony held at EON Centennial Resort Hotel and Waterpark, December 07, 2017.

Alvie Joy Tanjusay was presented the award after ranking first amongst her fellow BNS candidates in the region. She received a certificate of recognition, trophy and cash incentive worth 20, 000 pesos. She was also recognized as an Outstanding BNS for the City of Sipalay.

The annual search for ROBNS aims to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Barangay Nutrition Scholars in responding to the tasks mandated to them. It is conducted by Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team (RNET) composed of NNC RVI staff and representative from partner agencies.
