The City of La Carlota, Negros Occidental, as a beneficiary area of the Dietary Supplementation Program (DSP) for Pregnant Women in the Early Childhood Care and Development in the First 1000 Days (ECCD F1K) Program, received P 4, 844, 242.00 on April 02, 2018 to fund the activities under DSP.

The DSP aims to reduce the number of nutritionally at risk pregnant women in the city and to increase the number of infants with normal birth weight (greater or equal to 2.5 kg) by providing them hot meals every week day for 76 days and dry ration on weekends for 14 days starting on the 24th week of pregnancy.

RNPC Nona Tad-y of National Nutrition Council (NNC), Region VI, turned over the check to La Carlota City represented by Mayor Luis Jalandoni III. Negros Occidental ECCD F1K PNC Steffanie Hope Leonidas, NO I Ritzel Joy Daduya, CNPC Charina Navarro, and other MNC members were also present to witness the event.

The turnover also coincided with the 4th quarter monitoring on Local Nutrition Early Warning System for Food and Nutrition Security (LNEWS-FNS) in the City where NNC also turned-over a laptop to be used in the program.
