The National Nutrition Council (NNC) downloaded P6,187,589.00 for the implementation of the Dietary Supplementation Program (DSP) for Pregnant women in the Early Childhood Care and Development Program in the First 1000 Days (ECCD F1K), April 11, 2018.

The program aims to reduce the number of nutritionally at risk pregnant women in the city and to increase the number of infants with normal birth weight (greater or equal to 2.5 kg) by providing them hot meals every week day for 76 days and dry ration on weekends for 14 days starting on the 24th week of pregnancy.

RNPC Nona Tad-y of NNC RVI handed the check to Dr. Ramon Masna, SB on Health of Passi City in behalf of Mayor Jesry Palmares. Iloilo ECCD F1K PNC Gelaine Pet Trabado, CNAO Dr. Melven Oyad, CNPC Merlinda Landar as well as other CNC members witnessed the event.

Besides handing over the check, NNC RVI also conducted the 4th quarter monitoring on Local Nutrition Early Warning System for Food and Nutrition Security (LNEWS-FNS) and turned over the laptop which will be used for the program.
