Thirty-seven participants attended the 1st Quarterly Meeting of Provincial/City Nutrition Action Officers, District/City Nutrition Program Coordinators and Barangay Nutrition Scholars conducted on March 7, 2019 at Punta Villa Resort, Arevalo, Iloilo City by the National Nutrition Council (NNC), Region VI.
Discussed during the meeting were 2019 NNC Work and Financial Plan, Nutrition Situation Update Report 2019 (OPT Plus 2018) to present the status of preschool children, Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI) – Pro and Overview of Assistance to BNSs. Also, taken up were updates on ECCD-F1K, Nutrition in Emergencies and LGU Mobilization Workshop for 36 PPAN Priority Areas (May-July).
Challenges while conducting the OPT Plus 2018 were stressed like tools not standardized, not all LGU’s have calibrated height boards and weighing scales and BNSs lack proper training and orientation on the application of e-OPT. “LGUs should invest to address problems related to OPT Plus.” according to NPC Tad-y.
