“Amid the challenges of the "new normal,” the National Nutrition Council VI and the local government units have embarked on mainstreaming nutrition programs in the Annual Investment Plans of these LGUs.

Previously, the workshops held last October 6-9, were supposed to be follow up sessions done earlier this year, but COVID19 put a hold on these.

The NNC Region 6 modified the approaches in conducting the AIP workshops using a three-stage approach through online/virtual Workshop on Integrating Nutrition in the 2021 Annual Investment Program via Google Meet.

The workshops anchored on “Building Pandemic Resiliency of Local Government Units through Investments in Nutrition in the 2021 Annual Investment Program” theme.

RNPC Nona B. Tad-y gave the welcome remarks while NO III Sheryl Sedantes was the moderator of the workshop.

The Resource speakers from NNC Central Office were Reginaldo T. Guillen,Nutrition Officer IV of Nutrition Policy and Planning Division and Mr. André B. Flores of Alcanz International LLC. Nutrition experts/RNTC members from DOH, NEDA, UPV-BIDANI and NNC Region 6 staff served as facilitators.

Tad-y said the online workshop provided technical assistance to the participants in formulating and integrating nutrition in the AIP. The expected output of this activity is the LNAP integrated in the LGU’s 2021 AIP.
