14 June 2012 - NNC together with WVNMC gathered at Sarabia Manor Hotel to formally launched the newly formed alliance and for electing the officers in the presence of Asec. Maria-Bernardita T. Flores, CESO II. The officials were recognized in the persons of Ms. Elena “Bing” C. Pabiona, Broadcast Program Producer, Announcer II of Radyo ng Bayan as President, Tara Yap of Manila Bulletin/ The Daily Guardian as Secretary, Montesa Caoyonan of The News Today as liaison officer, Annabel Petinglay of Philippine News Agency (PNA) and Elsa Subong of Philippine Information Agency (PIA) as advisers while the rest were the members including Jezza Nepomoceno of Panay News, Ruben Panes and Adam Flores of Sky Cable, Greg Arcena of Bombo Radyo DYFM 823 kHz, Jose Elmer Cajilig of The Headlines, and Romel Betita and Mike Estaniel of Super Radyo DYSI 1323 kHz.

Objectives of the said alliance were to encourage other local media and sectors to actively participate in the Promotion of Good Nutrition (PGN) in the region and emphasize the pivotal role of media as changing behaviour of people into positive one. It also aims to ensure the nutritional well-being of all Filipinos through formulation of policy and program, nutrition surveillance and advocacy in PGN.

In line with its advocacy, media group will produced audio and video materials promoting good nutrition and broaden the write ups concerning health issues. There are T.V plugs and Nutri-talk (talk show for nutrition) for TV, drama series and public service announcements to be aired on radios, and articles and documentations will be written on broadsheets all related to nutrition.
