FGD on PMNP

A two-part virtual Focus Group Discussion (FGD), for KUMAIN-PMNP Philippine Multisectoral Nutrition Program (PMNP) was held on April 15, 2021. The FGD was coordinated by NNC Regional Office VI, and facilitated by Ms. Fritzie P. Bruce, Nutrition Officer II of NNC Central Office- Nutrition Policy and Planning Division. The Objectives of the FGD, are as follows: 1.) Assess the health and nutrition situation of the community. 2.) Gather inputs and suggestions from the community nutrition implementers.

Both the morning and afternoon sessions were attended by RNPC Guillen, NO III Sedantes, NNC RVI technical staff, P/MNAOs, D/MNPCs, MHOs, MSWD Officer, BNS, and BHW Representative, and Brgy, Day Care Worker of participating LGUs. For the afternoon session, Indigenous People (IP) Leader/Members were invited to directly inquire about the health and nutrition situation of their respective communities. Participating LGUs are from the Province of Negros Occidental and Iloilo, which includes Calatrava, Salvador Benedicto, Carles, and DueƱas.

The Philippine Multisectoral Nutrition Program (PMNP) was endorsed by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Zero hunger (IATF-ZH), where NNC had actively engaged, along with the DOH as the lead agency for KRA 3 "Securing Nutrition Adequacy", The IATF-ZH was created through Executive Order 101, to ensure that government policies and initiatives on attaining zero hunger are responsive and effective.
