A Project Team from BBF1KD ''Breaking Barriers in the First 1000 Days of a Child", led by their Executive Director Norma Chan-Pongan, had a courtesy call to RNPC Guillen on April 26, 2021. They presented the project and discussed it with RNPC Guillen, NO III Sedantes, and ECCD-F1K PNC Suing.
The pilot area will be the Municipality of Maasin. The project aims to contribute to the reduction of low birth weight, reduction of malnutrition among young children. It also targets to strengthen investments of LGUs in health and nutrition in the first 1000 days of the child. BBF1KD project has the following components:
1. Nutrition-Specific (e.g. DSP for Pregnant Women)
2. Nutrition-sensitive (e.g. home/communal garden)
3. Technical Assistance (e.g. LNAPs, BNAPs, Assessment, and KASP)
4.Private Sector Engagement.
This is a project of CORE Philippines, Inc, a non-stock and non-profit organization promoting a rights-based approach in sustainable development and partnership with Lifebank Microfinance Foundation, Inc. (LBMF). NNC Region VI welcomes this project and will work with the proponent by providing technical assistance in the project implementation and also further encouraging a more active private sector engagement.
