The target areas for Phase 3 of Tutok Kainan Dietary Supplementation Program (6-23 months old children) were oriented on the background of the program, roles & functions of LGUs, and DSP Cycle Menu. The orientation was conducted on 12 August 2021 via an online platform.
The program aims to contribute to the prevention of stunting among children 0-23 months old by improving the quality and quantity of food and nutrient intakes and utilization of related ECCD F1KD services among nutritionally at-risk pregnant women and children 6-23 months old in the target TutokKainan program areas. Target Tutok Kainan program areas include Iloilo Province (Calinog, Guimbal, & Passi City) and Negros Occidental Province (San Carlos City & Victorias City).
During the orientation, the participants were able to raise their concerns then immediately answered and clarified by RNPC Guillen, Iloilo PNFP Suing, Neg. Occ. PNFP EspaƱola, and Ms. Lindsay Anne Espiritu from NNC Central Office. LGUs that were beneficiaries from the previous implementation of the program also shared the challenges that they encountered and how they were able to strategize to address them.
