The National Nutrition Council Region VI continues to provide technical assistance to local government units, particularly in the development of local nutrition action plans and the identification of effective nutrition interventions in the fight against malnutrition.

On November 15 - 17, 2021, NNC RVI conducted the first three days of mentoring sessions among the Municipality of Calinog, Iloilo, Escalante City, and Himamaylan City. This is to intensify and enhance LNC Members in the following dimensions: planning, coordination, advocacy and promotion, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and resource generation.

NNC RVI held the 4th - 6th day of mentorship on November 22 - 24, 2021. During the virtual activity, Mr. Ronie Demonteverde of NEDA RVI presented the SDG and Regional Development Plan 2017 - 2022. This activity was designed to give technical assistance to local government units, especially in developing local nutrition action plans, strengthening their local nutrition committees, and identifying effective nutrition interventions in the fight against malnutrition. Specific agreements per LGU were identified to serve as follow-through activities for NNC to provide technical assistance to the target LGUs. LGUs present during the mentoring sessions expressed specific issues and concerns that they can work on to contribute to the improvement of their respective nutrition programs.
