Policy Review or RNCRDC Resolution Review

The National Nutrition Council Region VI conducted a Policy Review or RNC/RDC Resolution Review on May 19, 2022, at EON Centennial Plaza Hotel, Jalandoni St., Iloilo City Proper, Iloilo City.

Two (2) Resolutions were reviewed during the activity.

1.) RNC Resolution No. 001, Series of 2017 - Resolution Adopting Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) 2017 - 2022: A Call for Urgent Action for Filipinos and its Leadership

2.) RNC Resolution No. 001, Series 2019 - Resolution Enjoining the LGUs to Reactivate and Functionalize the Local Bantay Asin Task Force in the Implementation of RA 8172 otherwise known as ASIN Law through the Social Development Committee (SDC)

Policies are needed to help guide actions and provide clear instructions on what should/must be done in a particular set of circumstances or concerning a particular issue. Strong policies provide a common understanding and agreement among the stakeholders concerned.

In the context of the NNC Secretariat, nutrition and related policies take the form of resolutions of the NNC Governing Board, Regional Nutrition Committees, and in some instances, resolutions of Regional Development Councils. Policy review or evaluation is the stage of the policy process that determines how a public policy has fared in action, it determines whether objectives were achieved. It also identifies problems, failures, and challenges encountered in implementing the policy. The outputs of the policy review may also be utilized as inputs to the next round of the RPAN.
