On the 28th and 29th of July 2022, the TAME Team conducted a visit to the City of Cadiz and Municipality of Enrique B. Magalona, Negros Occidental. On the first day, Mayor Salvador G. Escalante Jr., City Nutrition Action Officer Cristina R. Wong, SP member on Health Maricel Desuyo, and City Health Officer Dr. Maria Victoria Ibañez welcomed the team at his office. Dr. Dayanghirang led the discussion on the purpose of the TAME activity. Both parties were happy with the result of the program as it really helped reduce the number of nutritionally at-risk pregnant women during the height of the pandemic from 45 to 4 remaining NAR PW at the end of the program. Mayor Escalante also expressed his plans of continuing the program and will extend the coverage to preschool-age children. Afterward a focus group discussion occurred in the Conference room with CNAO Wong and TK city consignee Ms. Charlene Bagayo where they presented the 90 days implementation of the program. The TAME Team transferred to the City Arena, where Barangay Captains, Barangay Nutrition Scholars, Rural Midwives, Barangay Health Workers, and TK beneficiaries waited for an interview.
In the afternoon, the TAME Team headed to Enrique B. Magalona, for another round of interviews. Expectedly, a focus group discussion (FGD), was conducted at the Nutrition Office of the Municipality of Enrique B. Magalona with Municipal Nutrition Action Officer Dr. Edmundo L. Janeo Jr., TK municipal consignee Ms. Antonia A. Delambotique, Barangay Nutrition Scholars, and Rural Midwives.
The Team continued the FGD on the following day with the 10 TK beneficiaries from different barangays. The interview was held at the Nutrition Office to determine the quality and quantity of the distributed commodities, nutrition messages, and their feedback on the program. In the later part of the FGD, the Team went to Brgy. Tabigue, Enrique B. Magalona for an on-site visit to the preparation and storage area. The Team also met Brgy. Captain Rosalita Arsenal, also took part in responding to the questions raised by the TAME Team.
