Cebu City – Aiming at curbing hunger and malnutrition in their respective households, the National Nutrition Council VII with the Cebu City Nutrition Council, Federation of Barangay Nutrition Scholars Association 7, Inc. (FeBaNuSA 7) and Cebu City Nutrition Scholars Association has sustained the momentum of its Anti-Hunger Caravan that started last 01 July.
Anti-hunger caravans are held in barangays with high prevalence of malnutrition. Identified barangays are visited every Monday. Caravan visits are slated on July 8 for Barangay Sawang Calero, July 15 for Barangay Pasil, July 22 for Barangay Duljo Fatima and July 29 for Barangay Alaska Mambaling.
The Anti-Hunger Caravan is an information and awareness campaign on the Nutrition Month 2013 Celebration, its theme, “Gutom at Malnutrisyon, sama-sama nating wakasan”, government actions to address hunger and malnutrition, measures for hunger mitigation; urban gardening, cooking-demonstration of cheap yet nutritious food.
