Makati City – Six municipalities from Bohol Province were awarded during the Pabasa sa Nutrisyon Awards during the Philippine Association of Nutrition Awards last 03 July 2013 held at the Dusit Thani Manila, Ayala Center, Makati City. The municipalities of Alicia, Balilihan, Carmen, Duero, Lila and Pilar were recognized with the PSN Outstanding Awards while Jagna was awarded with the PSN Exemplary Award.
The PSN Exemplary Award recognizes organizations that have successfully implemented Pabasa sa Nutrisyon for at least three years, has received a Pabasa sa Nutrisyon Outstanding Award and is still implementing it. The municipality of Jagna has been implementing the Pabasa program since 2010 up to present.
The PSN Outstanding Award recognizes an organization that has successfully implemented Pabasa sa Nutrisyon for more than one year and has satisfactorily fulfilled the PSN criteria requirement for the year 2012.
The Pabasa sa Nutrisyon Awards recognizes the outstanding achievement of the local government units and non-government organizations that have adapted the project in the communities of their beneficiaries. Pabasa sa Nutrisyon, is a nutrition education approach involving sustained and active participation of women and men in the barangay in the learning process, the leadership and support of local government executives, program managers and local nutrition workers. //DFB
