
The training was in line with NNC Governing Board Resolution No. 3, s. 2012 “Approving the Guidelines on the Fabrication Verification and Maintenance of Wooden Height Boards” and NNC Governing Board Resolution No. 2, s. 2008 “Adoption of New Child Growth Standards for Use for Children 0-5 years old in the Philippines."
These directives recognized the need to ensure the integrity of measurement using the wooden height board through clear guidelines on fabrication, calibration, verification, and maintenance and urged the verification of the measuring equipment used in the nutritional assessment of children under five years old nationwide.
The Resource Speakers were Senior Science Research Specialists, Analysis and Testing Division of Metals Industry Research and Development Center of the Department of Science and Technology, Engr. Rommel N. Coroña and Engr. Joel B. Bañares, Jr. who ensured that after the training, the participants were able to differentiate verification and calibration, perform the verification of height board and weighing scale and pass the competency examination on height board and weighing scale verification.// Beverly Saban, CTU DevCom Intern
