Nutri Game Apil Na logoCebu City – A nutrition-based radio program is now aired with a new focus, "One Fruit, One Vegetable, One Root Crop" every episode.

The change was made to highlight the campaign for fruit and vegetable diets. For several years now, the National Nutrition Council VII holds a program every Sunday called, “Nutri-Game, Apil Na.” But in intensifying fruit and vegetable diets, program organizers decided to change program focus to, “One Fruit, One Vegetable, One Root Crop.” Under its changed program focus, format was also designed such that one fruit, one vegetable and one root crop is featured every week.

Over the years, the program has been educating the public on how to make the right food choices that are appropriate to their economic, social, cultural and environmental condition. The program also aims to improve individual dietary practices to prevent further diet-related public health problems and promote safe foods anytime, anywhere.

Nutri-Game, Apil Na is an interactive one-hour radio game show produced by the National Nutrition Council VII in collaboration with the Radio Global Media Arts (RGMA). This is aired over DYSS-AM 999 kHz every Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon targeting a wide variety of listeners especially caregivers (mothers, grandparents, nannies), pregnant and lactating mothers, field workers in nutrition (BNS, BHW’s), and more. Listeners were encouraged to participate through calling or texting their intent to join the show. Each player shall be given two questions in order to win the prize. Once a player didn’t answer or missed at least one answer, he/she will be automatically eliminated from the game.

The airing of the modified program content will start on May 12, 2013. The program is anchored by NPC Parolita A. Mission and Ms. Lesly Comiso-Magalso.
