Tubigon, Bohol – The municipality of Tubigon, Bohol is Region VII’s contender for the this year’s Nutrition Honor Award after winning the 2nd Year Consistent Regional Outstanding Winner in Nutrition (CROWN) Maintenance Award in 2012.
The Nutrition Honor Award (NHA) is given to CROWN awardees that have consistently shown outstanding performance in efforts for nutrition improvement. A score of at least 98% for the 2012 performance enables the municipality to achieve this highest award a local government unit can receive in the area of nutrition. Tubigon will be visited by the national Nutrition Evaluation Team headed by Assistant Secretary of Health and NNC Executive Director IV Maria-Bernardita T. Flores on June 12 to 15, 2013. She is joined by the team of evaluators from DILG, FNRI and CWC.
To vie for the Nutrition Hall of Fame, the local government unit is assessed on its management of nutrition projects for the last three years. Particularly, the evaluation focuses on Program Efficiency which includes nutrition assessment, planning and budgeting; selection of priority interventions and setting of targets; delivery and outreach of interventions and monitoring, financial management and program management and Program Effectiveness or the improvement in the nutrition situation.
If the municipality of Tubigon will achieve this Hall of Fame, they will join the three other Bohol municipalities who are NHA-awardees namely Inabanga, Talibon and Calape. // DFB
