CebuCity - “Policies and procedures ensure a safe, organized, convivial, empowering, nondiscriminatory work place”, said NEDA 7’s Social Development Specialist, Mr. Rafael N. Tagalog, Jr. during the writeshop on Policy Formulation. Dovetailed with the 4th Regional Nutrition Program Management Conference, the writeshop was aimed to help the provincial/city nutrition action officers (NAOs) and district/city nutrition program coordinators (D/CNPCs) of Central Visayas to identify problems and issues that can be addressed with policy.
Discussed in the write shop included the following: policy need identification, policy goal articulation, information gathering, policy developing and writing, policy review, policy support, policy legal review, policy implementation, policy communication and policy interpretation and integration.
The writeshop on policy formulation was conducted in response to the clamor of the members of the Regional ManCon to know the basics in formulating policies. Sample policies drafted by the participants included: technical and administrative supervision of the nutrition office, source and amount of BNS honorarium and ratio of BNS with the population. //DFB
