Maria, Siquijor - “By visiting the island, not only are you visitors but you are Siquijudnons”. These are the welcoming words of Governor of Siquijor, Hon. Orlando A. Fua Jr. during the 1st Management Conference cum P/CNAO Meeting series 2012 hosted by the province of Siquijor.
The Regional Management Conference was held last March 21 to 23, 2012 at the Salagdoong Resort, Maria, Siquijor, the island of fire. Provincial/City Nutrition Actions Officers together with their District/City Nutrition Program Coordinators attended the said conference.
This institutionalized management conference provides policy and program directions to the Provincial/City Nutrition Action Officers in the region. Discussed during the conference were the Regional Strategic Plan 2012-2016, Updates on the Salt Iodization and Food Fortification Program, BNS Program and Status of Liquidation, Nutrition Situation in Central Visayas, OPT Plus which included the status of the LGU CGS trainings and acquisition of height boards, 2012 MELLPI, Monitoring of the Promote Good Nutrition, 2012 Nutrition Month Celebration which included the Proposed LGU activities for the Nutrition Month celebration, the Status of the IYCF trainings which included the trainings still to be conducted in the provinces of Bohol and Negros Oriental and the trainings to be started in the provinces of Cebu and Siquijor and the Local Media Campaign updates.
