Tagbilaran City – “The battle (against malnutrition) is not over!” an impassioned Hon. Cesar Thomas M. Lopez, Board Member of the 1^st District of Bohol emphasized the importance of District/City/Municipal Nutrition Program Coordinators during his key note speech at the 3^rd Regional Congress of Nutrition Coordinators.  

Now on its third year, the Nutrition Program Coordinators’ Association of Region 7, Inc. (NPCAR 7)’ s annual regional congress was held on 09 October 2015 at the Heritage Crab House, Tagbilaran City, Bohol with the province of Bohol hosting said event.

With the theme “D/C/MNPCs: Prime Movers in Nutrition”, the conference was divided into two parts, a lecture series in the morning and a field visit in the afternoon.

The lecture series included topics such as “Implementing Nutrition Policies and Laws” by Bohol DILG Provincial Director, Ms. Ma. Loisella E. Lucino, “Food Safety and the Role of the Local Nutrition Committees” by Asst. Provincial S & T Director of DOST Bohol-PSTC, Ms. Vina R. Antopina, and “Good Practices on Implementing Nutrition Program” by MNPC Ms. Joanna Faye Obdulia B. Reserva of Tubigon, Bohol.

In the afternoon, the Municipality of Jagna played host to the Congress attendees as they showcase the different nutrition programs, projects and activities implemented by the 2nd year CROWN contender.

NNC 7 Nutrition Program Coordinator Dr. Parolita A. Mission also graced the event and gave an inspirational speech. Other prominent figures present were Bohol PNAO & OIC Office of the Provincial Agriculturist Mr. Larry M. Pamugas and BAC Chair Dr. Glenn Doloritos, representing Bohol PNC Chair & Governor Edgar M.
