Cebu City – A refreshing change from the usual mentally exhausting discussion, this quarter’s Regional Nutrition Management Conference, gets a bit of zest to awaken the tired local nutrition workers’ interest.
Taking a refreshing turn from the usual long hard technical discussion and updates, ManCon participants, Nutrition Action Officers and District/City Nutrition Program Coordinators of the Provinces and Cities of Central Visayas, were treated to a day-long rousing writeshop, an exciting Program Implementation Review, an early Christmas Fellowship Night and a shorter technical session.
ManCon participants were treated to a skills development session with Ms. Nancy C. Ucag, a professional writer who facilitated a writeshop on preparing documentation reports on 11 November 2015. The group practiced making case stories anchored on the 2015 Nutrition Month celebration. Their outputs will be showcased in the Central Visayas 2015 NM Report.
This year’s program implementation review, facilitated by Ms. Jodelyn May G. Seno (an Organizational Development practitioner and a motivational speaker), aims to help LGUs identify nutrition program management difficulties and means of addressing them on 12 November 2015.
To promote camaraderie and good working relations in the region, an early Christmas fellowship was also conducted the eve of the second day. Held at the Golden Valley Hotel, Cebu City, on 11-13 November 2015, this quarter’s ManCon was one of the most attended conference of the year with 24 Nutrition Action Officers and Nutrition Program Coordinators from the Provinces of Bohol, Cebu, Negros Oriental and Siquijor and the Cities of Bais, Bogo, Canlaon, Cebu, Danao, Dumaguete, Guihulngan, Naga, Talisay, Tanjay and Toledo.
In the end, this quarter’s ManCon was both productive and soothing. Following this pattern, NNC 7 hopes to have the same level of enthusiasm and attendance in the next ManCons to come.//NGS
