Cebu City – The Central Visayas Association of Nutrition Action Officers (CeVANAO) has inducted its new set of officers for CY 2016 – 2018 on 10 March 2016 at the Cebu Grand Hotel, Cebu City.
Sworn were the following newly elected officers of CeVANAO: President: Dr. Josephine B. Jabonillo (Carmen, Bohol); Vice-President: Engr. Teodorico D. Auxtero (Danao, Bohol); Secretary: Ms. Lourdes A. Taburaza (Dumaguete City); Auditor: Dr. Rhenorhine A. Mamac (Argao, Cebu); PRO: Dr. Eric P. Echavez (Danao City) & Ms. Anita G. Ocmeja (Jagna, Bohol); Board of Directors: Dr. Analita N. Auza (Trinidad, Bohol), Dr. Merlyn M. Visda (Daanbantayan, Cebu), Dr. Rizalde N. Climaco (Asturias, Cebu), Dr. Elmer L. Empiales (Canlaon City), and Dr. Corazon R. Cablao (Bais City).
NNC 7 Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator Dr. Parolita A. Mission served as the inducting officer during the activity.
“It is quite a challenge to be elected as the new officers of the organization. However, I together with my fellow officers will do our best to strengthen the organization and achieve our mission in implementing the nutrition program in Central Visayas with the help and mentoring of the National Nutrition Council.” Dr. Jabonillo, newly elected CeVANAO president said.
CeVANAO is an organization composed of Provincial, City and Municipal Nutrition Action Officers in the region whose mission is to strengthen nutrition program implementation region wide through developing competent nutrition action officers, sharing relevant health and nutrition-related updates, deliberating implementation issues and establishing strong alliance, among others.
The induction was a back to back activity with the 1st Quarter CeVANAO meeting where Nutrition Action Officers and representatives had reviewed past accomplishments, and discuss activities for inclusion in the 2016 work plan.// NVS
