Cebu Province – On its quest to complement local nutrition committees’ efforts in the promotion of good nutrition in the community and to prove that good nutrition is not only for women and children but for all age groups and all sexes, the National Nutrition Council Region 7 joins the Commission on Population 7 in its Service Tour.

The activity, composed of three (3) stops, visited the Cities of Bogo and Naga and the Municipality of Barili to disseminate programs by the agency on 13, 25 and 18 August 2015 respectively followed the KP Roadshow format, dividing the population into four communities: adolescents, couples, men and elderly.

For its part, the National Nutrition Council armed with the usual Nutrition Education paraphernalia held lectures for the different communities emphasizing the importance of good health and nutrition in every age group. NNC 7 highlighted the 10 Kumainments and the Pinggang Pinoy in said lectures to help popularize the tools.

As siblings under one mother agency (the Department of Health RO7), the National Nutrition Council 7, Philhealth and PopCom continue to work together to ensure that Central Visayas have a healthy community. //NGS
