fruit a better choice

Bindoy, Negros Oriental - Hunger can strike at any time of the day! The ongoing quarantine period could be a bit of a challenge. Satisfying those cravings means eating whatever packaged junk is available or even trying to cook or order unhealthy options. Also, being at home constantly due to the lockdown will result to eating out of boredom.

Why don’t we try to change our cravings into a healthier option – eating fruits over junk foods! Healthy snacking improves overall health, curbs cravings, fights weight gain, regulates mood, boosts brainpower, and gives us the energy needed to keep going all day.

Pretty much the entire alphabet of vitamins can be found on fruits. The same goes for minerals. Our bodies need so many different vitamins and minerals to stay healthy and keep going. Some of those nutrients, like calcium and potassium, are vital to our survival.

One of the greatest benefits of fruits is the healthy fiber in them. Fiber is also super important for healthy bowels. Food high in fiber and low in calories can also help us lose weight because they make us feel full longer. It also controls your blood sugar, which again, helps us eat less junk throughout the day.

Fruit makes us glow! It helps make our skin look positively glorious. The antioxidants in fruit help combat that, while the water content hydrates our skin from the inside out.

Eating fruit every day lowers the risk of so many diseases and can also help control blood pressure, decreases the chance of developing certain type of cancers, and so much more. So, eat more fruit and you may live a longer and healthier life. // ND II Jhianne Mae Nicole C. Tugaoen
