The essentials to maintain physical and mental health and well-being is through eating a healthy balanced diet; accompanied by regular exercise. Particularly, through physical activity, it can improve brain-related function and outcomes.

Now, what is the impact on our diet and exercise when we do weight loss management?

Well, when we do weight loss management; the first few weeks our body adapts to the changes. Our usual diet changes to more of a healthier one. We tend to learn to estimate or measure our food portion sizes at home or in restaurants. We analyze the fat content of menu items and dishes on buffet tables and learn to value nutrition facts in grocery stores. We substitute high-calorie for low-calorie food. We tend to have a better sense of eating right and healthy.

While on the other hand, what is the difference between diet and exercise? Combining exercise with a healthy diet is a more effective way to lose weight than depending on diet or calorie restriction alone. Exercise can prevent or even reverse the effects of certain diseases. As they say, exercise lowers blood pressure and cholesterol, which may prevent a future heart attack.

In addition, if we exercise, we lower our risk for developing certain types of cancers such as colon and breast cancer. Exercise is also known to help contribute to a sense of confidence and well-being, thus possibly lowering rates of anxiety and depression.

Exercise is helpful for weight loss management and maintaining it. Exercise can increase metabolism, or how many calories we burn in a day. It can also help us maintain and increase lean body mass, which also helps increase the number of calories we burn each day.

The impact of exercise through weight loss management is that as we perform daily exercise it improves our blood sugar level and may help reduce our risk of chronic diseases like heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and certain cancers. Exercise also helps us to maintain and grow our muscle mass, keep our bones strong and dense, and prevent the onset of conditions like osteoporosis.
