Cebu City – After completing the 10 virtual sessions, the National Nutrition Council recently concluded its first Idol ko si Nanay Nutrition School On-Air (NSOA). The virtual graduation was held on 17 August 2021 via its regional Facebook page with 34 graduates from all over Central Visayas.
Awarded were the following honor students:
- Juliet Mae C. Selim of Brgy. Bayog, Canlaon City
(First Honor)
- Maida Bertumen- Virtudazo of Brgy. Faraon, Jagna, Bohol
(Second Honor)
- KC Nhorelle N. Cantiga of Brgy. Anonang Sur, Bogo City
(Third Honor)
- Most Participative:
- Judelyn M. Librinca of Brgy. Labogon, Mandaue City
- Antonieta Magallanes Ondong of Brgy. Mancilang, Madridejos, Cebu
- Lisally Mae A. Villarojo of Brgy. Lodgoron, Ayungon Negros Oriental
Hosted by NNC 7, the 10 sessions tackled important information on pre-pregnancy, maternal health, newborn and postpartum care, exclusive breastfeeding, and appropriate complementary feeding.
Daily examinations were also conducted to measure the learnings of the virtual students. The same process also served as the basis for the identification of honor students, along with their activity participation during each virtual session.
Dr. Parolita A. Mission, NNC 7 Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator, congratulated all the graduates for finishing the sessions and encouraged them to become one of the Idol Nanays and Caregivers who will share their learnings to their family members and friends, as well as practice what they have learned from the 10 sessions.
The Idol ko si Nanay Nutrition School On-Air is a new virtual class offering of NNC 7 which aims to enhance the knowledge and practices of mothers and caregivers on nutrition and Early Childhood Care and Development services in the First 1000 days that can be used in their day to day lives.
