Cebu City – The National Nutrition Council Region VII conducted an orientation session for one newly hired Nutrition Officer (NO) and three Provincial Nutrition Focal Points (PNFP) who will be assigned in the region, Siquijor Province, and Bohol Province.
The orientees were Mr. Arnold R. Bongcag, Jr., PNFP for Bohol Province; Mr. John Dale C. Maningo, PNFP for Cebu Province; Ms. Mary Bliss Joy P. Iguana, PNFP for Siquijor Province; and Ms. Christine April M. Lopez, Nutrition Officer I.
The orientation tackled the programs, projects and activities of each desk, performance measures, outcome indicators, and the desk’s contribution to the attainment of the NNC’s organizational outcome as well as the duties and responsibilities of staff in-charge. The session started with matters along Nutrition Policy and Planning Desk (NPPD). NO III Nasudi G. Soluta facilitated the discussion on nutrition policy and planning concerns while ND II Shaira Camille T. Labastida shared interagency coordination and management and operations of the nutrition networks. PNFP Mary Bliss Joy P. Iguana who also served as facilitator-participant elaborated on LGU Mobilization and monitoring and mentoring of DOH-deployed HRH for Nutrition. PNFP Kristal Katrina Bacay on the other hand discussed Tutok Kainan Supplementation Program and ECCD F1K.
The Nutrition Information and Education Desk (NIED) specifically the social media campaign and Nutritskwela Community Radio Network Program was reviewed by another facilitator-participant NO I Christine April M. Lopez. Whereas the Social and Behavior Change Communication, events, and capacity development were presented by NO II Norre Jean V. Delos Santos.
For the Nutrition and Surveillance Desk (NSD), ND II Suzette Jade M. Salado explained the data surveillance system while the NO III Soluta expounded on the monitoring and evaluation of local government and local nutrition focal points. Lastly, AA VI Ronalyn C. Dela Cerna detailed on the administrative and finance concerns.
The last part of the orientation catered to the questions of the newly hired personnel for clarification. // AA VI Ronalyn C. Dela Cerna
