Cebu City ­– The Civil Service Commission has granted a special privilege to claim eligibility to volunteer workers in the barangay levels who have rendered at least two (2) years of continuous and satisfactory nutrition services and other related activities in their respective barangays. One of these special privileges is granting first level Civil Service Eligibility to the Barangay Nutrition Scholars. 

BNS Violeta C. Flores of Barangay Tuburan Sur, Danao City, Cebu was ecstatic after having been granted a request for certification for Civil Service Eligibility application through the efforts of the National Nutrition Council. This certification is her first step to qualify for the BNSE under Presidential Decree No. 1569. 

For other BNS interested to avail said privilege, please submit the following documents to the NNC regional office: 

• Original endorsement letter from the local chief executive;
• Request letter from BNS;

• Certified photocopy of two (2) designation/appointment papers signed 

by Barangay Captain/Mayor (1st appointment & recent appointment);

• Certified two (2) BNS master list with name and details of BNS, per year of service (recent consecutive year);
• Certified photocopy of BNS ID or government-issued ID with birthdate and address;
• Certificate of Completion for BNS Training and Practicum and at least two (2) certificates of attendance/ participation from relevant training;
• NSO Certified Birth Certificate; and
