Cebu Province -- Food is one of the things we should be thankful for in life. Without food, our body can’t sustain our daily activities. Food will supply the vitamins and minerals that our body’s immune system needs in order to survive. 

Proper handling and preparation of food have big impact on every family in our society. If the food we prepare for our family is not properly washed well as it might be the source of some food-borne diseases that we don’t want to happen to our loved ones. Some of these diseases could be diarrhea, amoebiasis, food poisoning which can lead to dehydration, and even death. Always follow Kumainment No. 6, “Tiyaking malinis at ligtas ang ating pagkain at tubig”.

Every day of the year we should choose a variety of foods we eat; it should be nutritious for us to develop our potential in every way. Food provides our bodies with what it needs to be active and prevents and fights against infection.

Everyone should be conscious in preparing the food they eat every day. It should be washed and cooked thoroughly before serving it to the table. But before that, it should be the hands of the one who prepare the food who should wash and clean repeatedly. There should be no hurrying because we cannot turn back time anymore if we missed one single step in preparing the food we serve to our families. We should consume food immediately. If in case there is a leftover, it should be reheated properly before consuming it.
