xmas virtual
Cebu City
—The National Nutrition Council Region VII held a simple Christmas virtual gathering during the tail end of the 2nd day of the 2nd Regional Management Conference held on 03 December 2021. Despite the trials that the COVID-19 pandemic brought upon, the spirit of Christmas is still present and ever burning in the hearts of every Filipinos without forgetting the true reason of the celebration. Christmas is celebrated to remember the birth of Jesus Christ. His birth is characterized by simplicity. Baby Jesus was born in a manger with only his mother and father. His guests were a shepherd, a few animals and the three kings.

During the simple and quick Christmas activity, the members of the Regional ManCon garbed in red apparels, headdresses and masks were filled with dopamine or what we know as the ‘happy hormone’ despite their busy and hectic schedules. Some participants were stationed in the vaccination centers to lend a helping hand or man the 3-day National Vaccination Days dubbed Bayanihan Bakunahan to help realize COVID-protected Philippines as more Filipinos are vaccinated. The simple celebration served as a stress reliever to the participating NAOs, D/C/MNPCs, reps from MNAO and MNPC associations and the NNC 7 secretariat.

Games like guess the song zoom edition where a quick snippet of the song is being played and guess the movie where pictures are being shared by the host as clues for the movie title. These are only some examples that can bring joy and fun during Christmas parties held virtually. Even though the party was held online the participants were full of joy and laughter. // NO I Christine April M. Lopez, RND
