Barili, Cebu - The nutrition workers of Barili gears up to revive the Barili Nutrition School on Air (NSOA). The revitalized broadcast was aired live on 12 October 2021 over Nutriskwela Community Radio Network Program - Radyo Kahimsug.  

The NSOA is a nutrition promotion module developed by the National Nutrition Council to create public awareness and adopt good nutrition. It has 12 sessions on 10 Kumainments.

The Municipal Nutrition Focal Person Nurse – Ms. Maria Lynette Eleccion took the lead in that show. With the need of Rural Health Unit to focus on COVID-19 vaccination to achieve the herd immunity, other nutrition workers particularly the Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) pitch in and took turn in disseminating important nutrition lessons thru Barili NSOA.

The first BNS who participated was BNS Felicitas D. Panugaling from Barangay Mantalongon. She was followed by BNS Alma M. Mari from Barnagay Azucena and BNS Julie Ann L. Aboyabor of Barangay Patupati. In spite of the distance, they need to travel, they were able to manage to go to the Radio Kahimsug Station at CTU Campus Barili in Barangay Cagay that would take them 15-20 minutes motorbike ride just to be of service and do nutrition info dissemination.

The Barili NSOA is broadcast live every Monday at 11:00-12:00 by Radyo Kahimsug DYNE 97.5 and is supported by the RHU Barili and other members of the Municipal Nutrition Committee, Cebu Technological University-Barili Campus, Department of Health CV CHD, and the National Nutrition Council Region VII.
