What is your new year’s resolution this 2022? Is food part of your list? How do you eat responsibly?
According to U.S Green Chamber of Commerce, “eating responsibly is a complex and multifaceted issue”.
Let me share with you some ways on how to eat responsibly:
- Backyard gardening
Easy to access fresh fruits and vegetables when you have your DIY garden. In addition to that it has less pesticides and less travel. The further it travels; the fewer nutrients make it to your plate. Therefore, it is better to create your own garden. Are you ready?
- Eating at the right time
Based on Northwestern Medicine plan to eat breakfast within an hour of waking, lunch should be about four to five hours after breakfast and dinner should follow the same pattern as your previous meals, with no more than a four- to five-hour gap between lunch and dinner. Make sure to eat your healthy and nutritious snacks in every interval like boiled sweet potato with lemon juice. Yum!
- Eat seasonally
Do you crave summer fruits like watermelon, siniguelas (spanish plum), and caimito (star apple) or tropical fruits like pineapple, mango and banana? Seasonal eating is a healthy and sustainable way to change your diet.
