Mandaue City – After the kick-off of the first ever episode of e-HISGOT 2022, it just feels so gratifying for me to be able to share the needed and important information to individuals affected with disorders linked with Iodine deficiency. Spreading awareness of it is for sure one of the missions completed of being an advocate for curing with nutrition.
One of the Social Behavior Communication Change strategies of the National Nutrition Council Region VII is the program “e-HISGOT” or Educational Health and Nutrition Information-Sharing Geared TOwards DevelopmenT, which aims to reach out to the public virtually and spread awareness, and relevant vital information to the public in the service to promote good health and proper nutrition. This activity for me is an effective way of reaching out to a niche audience, but it can also be a source of wealthy information for others. And the talent of the members of NNC 7 are keeping up with current trends of how to improve and apply a more modern twist relevant to the present period.
After hosting one of the most informative programs of NNC 7, I thought to myself that there are endless possibilities of how we deliver crucial information, and it’s within the team’s capabilities and creativity of how we implement them to get them to our target audience. I’d like to point out that RNPC Dr. Mission does a great job in adding a personal touch with her technical discussions, it just adds a human element to it which brings it closer to the audience, and that for me serves as an advantage.
Overall, the kickoff was a success despite having internal minor technical difficulties on connectivity, we still pulled through. Afterall, our goal with this educational offering - e-HISGOT is to disseminate factual, relevant, and up-to-date nutrition related information, and it wouldn’t have happened if preparation wasn’t key. // NO I Gab Flores, RND
