Cebu City - The station manager of Radyo Kahimsug Romeo Lepiten, was elected as Board Member of the Nutriskwela Radio Broadcasters’ Association (NRBA), Inc. The election of officers of NRBA was one of the highlights of the 10th National Conference of Nutriskwela Community Radio Network Program (NCRNP) held on 25-27 January 2022 virtually via zoom conference. The newly elected officers took their oath of office immediate after the conference. Assistant Secretary and NNC Executive Director Dr. Azucena M. Dayanghirang officiated the oath taking ceremony.
The NRBA is the association of broadcasters affiliated with NCRNP and is formed to provide support to radio station personnel to further empower then to better serve the purpose of the stations in addressing malnutrition and promote community development in their respective areas.
Radyo Kahimsug is one of the three NCRNPs in Central Visayas set-up by the National Nutrition Council. The program is managed by the Cebu Technological University Barili Campus with the station based in Barili, Cebu. The other NCRPs in the region are Radyo Kalampusan in San Francisco Camottes, Cebu and Radyo Kaigsoonan in Zamboanguita, Negros Oriental.
The 10th National Conference of NCRNP was organized by NNC to provide updates on Nutriskwela program, share good practices and discuss concerns to improve the management and operations of the stations. It was attended by representatives from 50 Nutriskwela radio stations nationwide.
Nutriskwela Community Radio Network is a network of low-powered community radio stations around the country. The network and its radio stations are owned by the NNC in partnership with various local government unit and educational institution, and licensed as non-commercial stations, with programming that focuses on health, nutrition. and developmental programs. // NO I Christine April M.
