Cebu City – The operations of Radyo Kalampusan DYNH 99.1 mHz, one of the Nutriskwela Community Radio Network Programs in Central Visayas was resumed after it was able to fix the antenna which was destroyed by Typhoon Odette that struck San Francisco and other municipalities of Central Visayas in December 2021. This was one of the findings of the monitoring team during the first semestral monitoring of the radio station held on 28 February 2022. The monitoring was held virtually with the presence of its station manager Sir Lanez A. Wenceslao and other personnel of the radio station.
The local government of San Francisco assisted the station staff to repair and restore the antenna in order to continue their service to bring relevant and up to date nutrition and development information to their listeners. However, their internet connectivity is still a challenge that limits their live airing in their official facebook page.
Other findings of the monitoring team include the conduct of the first Community Radio Council (CRC) meeting for the year, the station personnel’s assistance to the Ty Odette victims and other efforts to broaden information sharing among nutrition advocates and workers in this geographically isolated and disadvantaged municipality and other areas in Camotes island. // NO I Christine April M.
