Cebu City – The Federation of Barangay Nutrition Scholars Association of Region 7 (FeBaNuSA 7, Inc.) approved its 2022 Work and Financial Plan during their 1st regional virtual meeting on February 11, 2022, via Zoom conference call.
Sixteen provincial and city BNS association presidents who attended the meeting unanimously approved the lined activities of the federation for 2022. Among the priority targets for 2022 include the BNS vlogs, regional and provincial congresses, quarterly capacity development, special Nutrition Month project, BNS Mentoring, special health campaign for BNSs with NCDs, medical, calamity and survivorship financial assistance, and quarterly meeting.
FeBaNuSA 7, Inc. President Mr. Lopito B. Patrimonio who facilitated the work plan preparation along with the rest of the presidents, based the 2022 targets on the challenges and lessons of the 2021 implementation. BNS Coordinator Ms. Lucia C. Arellano also presented the current financial status of the association as well as the planned expenses for 2022.
National Nutrition Council Region 7 Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator Dr. Parolita A. Mission, in her message, congratulated the association for being the longest and most active organized nutrition group in the region. She also praised the association for their active assessment, planning, and implementation of their annual work plan despite the difficulties brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, and encouraged them to continue their advocacies as reflected in their 2022 strategies.
FeBaNuSA 7, Inc. is the authorized organization of the barangay nutrition scholars in Central Visayas formed to promote unity and linkages among BNS associations in the region; strengthen camaraderie among BNSs; strengthen the competence of members through capacity building activities; uphold the rights and responsibilities of BNSs, and create a venue for economic and social upliftment of the members.
Look forward to the new strategies and campaign prepared by the Central Visayas BNSs as they intensify and strengthen the campaign against malnutrition in the region. // NVS
