Cebu City – The National Nutrition Council Region VII convened the 1st RNC-TWG meeting on the 22nd of February 2022 via Zoom conference. It was held back-to-back with the Regional Nutrition Cluster, Regional Bantay Asin Task Force, and ECCD TWG for CY 2022.
The virtual meeting was presided by RNC-TWG Chair and Philippine Association of Nutrition Cebu Chapter President Mr. Jarvis S. Prochina. Twenty-five (25) participants came from twelve (12) agencies: BFAR 7, DA 7, DBM 7, DEPED 7, DILG 7, DOH CV CHD, DOST 7, DSWD 7, NDAP CEBU, NDA Visayas, NEDA 7, PNA Cebu Chapter joined the meeting. The provinces of Bohol and Cebu were also represented for better coordination.
The agenda tackled during the meeting included the 2021 RPAN Accomplishment; NiE Updates from Nutrition Initial Needs and Assessment; ECCD F1K Updates; National Salt Iodization Program Updates; 2022 RNC Workplan including 2022 RNC Resolutions, LGU Mobilization & 2022 Social Behavior Change and Communication; 2022 MELLPI Pro; and 2021 OPT Plus results.
Major agreements comprised member agencies to submit their 4Ws document for inclusion in the next Regional Nutrition Cluster Report, other members will share their agency’s accomplishments in the 2021 RPAN Accomplishment. They may also opt to update it through the forms sent via email or via Google link. RNC-TWG members who will also serve on Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team will choose preferred dates and LGUs to join for the 2022 MELLPI, NEDA 7 will review the draft resolution and send comments to the RNC secretariat prior to the RNC Full Committee Meeting, and DILG 7 to submit the 2nd Semester LNC Functionality Status by the end of January 2022.
The meeting was capped with a virtual Christmas get-together facilitated by the RNC secretariat. Virtual games were also played with corresponding prizes for the winners.
