Minglanilla, Cebu - As part of the 2022 plan of activities, NNC 7 conducted mentoring activities to the new nutrition action officer of Minglanilla, Dr. Mae M. Vicente and the LGUs municipal nutrition program coordinator Ms. Ria A. Bacus. The mentoring activity was done on 21 March 2022.

The mentoring team was composed of ND II Franz Cassandra Ontina, NO I Christine Lopez, and HRH-N deployed in Minglanilla ND II Viktor Fillamor. The duo was oriented on their roles and functions as MNAO and MNPC, respectively. A brief discussion of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition, why invest in nutrition, roles of municipal and barangay nutrition committees, and Barangay Nutrition Scholars Program were also discussed.

MNAO Dr. Vicente and MNPC Bacus were invited to join e-Learning course on Nutrition Program Management organized by NNC central office. Dr. Vicente expressed her interest to join the course as this is the right opportunity for her to get more information on the nutrition program, the projects and activities that her LGU would undertake responsive to the needs of the residents especially the vulnerable population of Minglanilla.

LGU mentoring is one of the packages of service that NNC7 offers to program managers and implementers of the different municipalities, cities, and provinces in Central Visayas. // NO I Christine April M. Lopez, RND
