Siquijor, Siquijor –The Regional Nutrition Evaluating Team (RNET) included all six municipalities in its 2022 Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation Protocol (MELLPI Pro) of this mystic island in Central Visayas. The team visited the province from 28 March to 01 April 2022.
The weeklong activity looked into the status of the local nutrition committees according to the six dimensions including vision and mission, nutrition policies, governance, LNC management, nutrition services, and changes in nutritional status using the MELLPI Pro tool.
The team is composed of Marck Zacharry S. Malanog of DILG Siquijor Province, ND II Franz Cassandra R. Ontina of DOH CV CHD/NNC 7, and NO III Nasudi G. Soluta of NNC 7. They were joined by ND II Grace E. Adolfo and ND II Karen F. Abe of DOH CV CHD/NNC 7 and PNPC Pamela Ida P. Dominguez. They had a courtesy call to Siquijor Governor, Hon. Zaldy S. Villa and Provincial Nutrition Action Officer, Dr. George Walthrode L. Opay. During the meeting, the team discussed the schedule for the week and the plans of the province to further improve their nutrition program. Being a new PNAO, the team also took the opportunity to orient him on his roles as PNAO, the PPAN, and the basics of nutrition program management.
RNET 7 is set to visit all other provinces for the whole 2nd quarter of the year and is hopeful to assist the local nutrition committees to better manage their nutrition programs as well as recognize the outstanding LNCs and LNFPs in the region. // ND II Franz Cassandra R. Ontina, RND
