Dietary Habits

Negros Oriental - Every day, people make decisions, the majority of which are simple and do not take much consideration. It's easy to feel doubtful or hesitant when events are more difficult and have long-term consequences like making decisions for a career, relationship, finance, and also in building dietary habits.

Many of us have established routines when it comes to eating. Some are healthy while others are unhealthy. It's never too late to modify your eating habits, even if you've been doing so for years.

Here are some tips to help you build dietary habits:

Break the fast! Breakfast is the most essential meal of the day. It restores your glucose supply to increase your energy and alertness while also supplying other vital nutrients for optimum health. If you skip breakfast, you will be hungry, fatigued, and more likely to seek out less healthy foods later in the day.

Plan ahead! It's a lot easier to change your eating habits if you plan beforehand. Before you go shopping, make a list of what you'll need and when you'll eat it.

Eat before shopping! When you go grocery shopping on an empty stomach, you will make terrible decisions. You're more inclined to add unhealthy foods to your cart while you're hungry and exploring the aisles. So, before you go to the supermarket, eat a snack or a meal prior.

Maintain a healthy eating routine! The majority of your meals should be prepared at home with whole or lightly processed foods. Eat a variety of foods and use the Pinggang Pinoy tool as a guide for your healthy eating journey.

Get moving! Physical and mental wellness requires regular exercise. Physical activity is linked to better sleep and mood.

It is not difficult to build dietary habits. It entails making little, positive changes to your dietary habits over time. Allowing your body to acclimate to the dietary changes will result in a new level of energy, improved health, and a higher quality of life in the long term. //ND II Raya Faith A. Luce, RND
