Cebu Province – After a week-long Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation in Cebu Province held on 18-22 April 2022, the members of the Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team noted a better performance level of the province on the change in nutritional status. This meant a significant decrease in the prevalence of stunted and underweight children 0-59 months old.

The RNET was composed of its Chair Jarvis Prochina and Ms. Philadelfa Gaviola of PAN Cebu Chapter, Ms. Sarah Belle Antiola of DOH CV CHD, Ms. Janieva Dandan of DILG 7, Mr. Eldie Gugudano of CDU, Mr. Teresito Caayaman, Mr. Viktor Filamor, Ms. Franz Cassandra Ontina and Mr. Henriel Gabe Sucalit of DOH CV CHD/NNC 7 with Ms. Christine April Lopez of NNC 7 as its secretariat.

The team visited three municipalities including Aloguinsan, San Fernando, and Tabogon as well as three barangays in each municipality as samples for each local government on how the dimensions were cascaded and implemented during the period under review.  

The presentation of the results from the radial diagram and discussions of the findings was held on the last day of the visit attended by the members of the Provincial Nutrition Committee led by Dr. Jose Edgar Alonzo and Dr. Rannie Gravador and the PNC secretariat. // IMO Gabe Henriel P.
