Cebu City – New members comprised this year’s Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team (RNET) as they participated the 2022 Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI). Most of them were rookies in the conduct of MELLPI Pro vice their senior counterparts who recently retired from government service or moved to other divisions/areas in their respective offices. But they were ably oriented on the MELLPI Pro with hands-on training on using the tool in assessing performance of local governments and local nutrition focal points prior to their deployment.
The said training was held on 22-23 March 2022 in One Central Hotel, Cebu City. Before the actual LGU visit, a quick review of the process and key elements to note was also conducted per team. To further help the young members in treading in new waters in the nutrition evaluation process, NNC 7 came up with FAQ or Frequently Asked Questions on MELLPI Pro which served as handy reference.
First time to join the MELLPI Pro this year include Ms. Sarah Belle Antiola of DOH CV CHD, Ms. Christy Marie Baritua of FDA 7, Ms. Janieva Dandan of DILG 7, Ms. Zash Marie Del Pilar of DOLE 7, Ms. Michelle Duran, and Ms. Justinne Go of DSWD 7, Ms. Kristine Jocson of NEDA 7, Ms. Haide Senajon of DBM 7.
Being neophytes, NNC 7 made sure that they were partnered with remaining veteran RNET members as they browsed the evidences of the different dimension of the MELLPI Pro, gathered the necessary data for scoring, and probed further for more information.
The new members showed their willingness to learn more and showcased their expertise in their respective fields to provide technical assistance for the purpose of wanting to help improve the performance of LGUs visited.
For future evaluations the RNET aims to be a one well-oiled machine with all RNC members represented, as teamwork really does make the dream work of achieving of 90% of the local government units in Central Visayas implementing quality nutrition programs to their constituents. // NO I Gab Flores, RND
