Negros Province - A well balanced diet will not be complete without water. Water is necessary for nearly all of your body's major systems to function and survive. The nutritional value of water does not appear to be extremely high. Water, on the other hand, serves a variety of functions in the human body. What hydration can do for your body is surprising. Here are some of them:
Saliva production. Because saliva is 98% water, it moistens the mouth and aids in the compacting of food into softer particles for easy swallowing. Saliva also contains small amounts of electrolytes, mucus, and enzymes It is required for the digestion of solid foods and the maintenance of oral health.
Digestion and nutrient absorption of food. Water also serves as a transport system for enzymes, which start the chemical breakdown of lipids and carbs as you chew. Watery gastric secretions are released while food travels through your stomach. Water is also required for the production of mucus, which shields the inside of your stomach from strongly acidic digestive juices.
Excretion of waste. Your body may eliminate waste through perspiration, urine, and feces if you drink enough water. Water keeps the bladder free of bacteria to reduce the chance of urinary tract infections like cystitis.
Overall hydration. Water is required for every bodily function. Hydration is important for maintaining homeostasis, or the balance of physiological processes in your body. Your body will not be able to maintain its health without this equilibrium. The greatest method to stay hydrated is to drink water. While juice, soda, tea, and coffee all contain water, the most effective way to hydrate is with simple water.
Drink before you become thirsty. Keep in mind that water is your buddy, and proper hydration is essential for optimum health. Stay hydrated! // ND II Raya Faith A. Luce, RND
